Virtual Lessons

Over the past few years I have invested heavily quality virtual lessons. Virtual lessons are done over Zoom. Students will need to have the necessary gear and setup to hear/see me and for me to hear/see them. Please email me if you would like to schedule a virtual lesson. My email is zjpercussion@gmail.com

My current rates for Private Lessons are:
30 min = $20
1 hour = $35

Prices are subject to change based on demand.
Payments can be sent via PayPal or the Square Cash App.

Virtual lessons have unique advantages and challenges. The obvious advantage is that the student has no commute for their lesson. They are able to learn from the comfort of their home.

The disadvantages include a less “hands on” lesson. Sound delay/latency makes it impossible to play with the student in prefect unison (the workaround is the student is muted to play with me and then the student is unmuted so I can hear them play alone). Video and audio quality could be a problem if the student does not have a decent camera and microphone.

If that doesn’t scare you off, WONDERFUL! Virtual lessons became a necessity in 2020 and many people really enjoy them and feel that they are beneficial.

In the Zoom sound settings, I ask that students have “Original Sound” turned on and the “Automatically Adjust Volume” option turned off.
